John T. Maher Obituary
Irondequoit: After a long journey of battling cancer for the past several years, John passed peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026. Predeceased by his parents, Richard and Elizabeth (Betty), his brother Alan and aunt, Mary Jane Berry and his beloved dog Jessie. Survived by his niece, Alana Salisbury and nephew, David (Kimberly) Maher, and numerous cousins and close friends.
John was a graduate of Eastridge HS and RIT. He also had a long and successful career at Eastman Kodak/Kodak Alaris. John kept in touch with his many friends and Kodak co-workers throughout the years. Among his many interests were modern jazz and classic rock from the 70s and 80s. He was also an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills.
Family and friends are welcome Thursday, August 20th from 5-7pm at the Dreier-Giltner Funeral Home 1717 Portland Ave. John's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 21st, 10am at St. Kateri Parish at St. Cecilia Church. Interment will follow at White Haven Memorial Park.
