Michael Robert Englert

Lake St. Louis, Mo.—Mike Englert, who served as the vice president of soft surfaces for CCA Global Partners, parent company of Carpet One, as well as vice president of merchandising for Flooring America, passed away Feb. 15 following a long battle with cancer. He was 53.

“Mike was part of the CCA Global family for more than six years,” said Howard Brodsky, CCA Global Partners co-CEO and co-chairman. “Over the years as he has battled cancer, Mike never lost his honor, positive attitude, humor or love for everyone he knew. It’s a sad [time]; we’ve lost one of our best. He was a friend and colleague to many in the flooring industry. He was a wonderful person and true friend to all of us. He will surely be missed by everyone at CCA Global Partners.”

Alan Greenberg, co-CEO and co-chairman, CCA Global, agreed. “Mike had a positive attitude, a great sense of humor and he really loved his work, his family and his friends. Our thoughts go out to his wife, Joyce, and their children— Jennifer and Erin, and their families.”

Englert had been in the retail business for more than three decades. From 2000 to 2003, he served as a buyer for CCA Global. Previously, he had been vice president of merchandising for The Maxim Group (CarpetMax), where his responsibilities included buying and merchandising for 900 franchise stores and 350 company-owned stores.

From 1969 to 1990, he was the vice president of merchandising for Richland Industries, a top 20 retailer located in Rochester, N.Y., his hometown. He was responsible for all purchases for the 14-store chain.

Englert was predeceased by his father, the late Robert Englert. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joyce; two daughters, Jennifer Bennecke and Erin; his mother, Joan Bellis; and brothers Mark, Daniel and Thomas.

The family requests donations be made to the Siteman Cancer Center, 660 South Euclid Ave., P.O. Box 8100, St. Louis, MO 63110, or to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, National Mail Processing Center, P.O. Box 6003, Albert Lea, MN 56007.

Rest in Peace Mike Englert

Respectfully the Class of 1971
