Memorial for the Class of 1971

What can be said about death?  It is sad, devastating, sorrowful, and painful. So many lives are touched when someone returns to the Lord. We can’t understand the big “why”.  When we lose someone we usually can only see what is right in front of us.  We are blindsided by our own grief.  But in reality, God uses people’s lives in ways we might never know.  We know how much our lives have been touched, and we feel it has been unfair when someone leaves this place earlier than our plans required.

I thank God for Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose." God is faithful , even when we are not. He cannot deny Himself. He says what He means and means what He says.  Called home or called to do something here on earth.  There is no scripture promising understanding, but it does call us to have faith and believe what he says.

Some of the people from the list of former classmates that have left this place on earth, I didn’t know and some I did.  It reminds me that all who are reading this ---God is not through with us yet.  He has given us yet another day to try to get it right. So here is to the ones who have left and to all who remain from the Class of 1971.

With love, Deborah Sweet Vasile

Keith Red Elk posted a beautiful song called: 'Dancing in the Sky' by a person who has the most beautiful voice - her name is Lizzy (Dani and Lizzy - Dancing in the Sky). The lyrics are at the bottom of this page.

Please scroll on the names, if you see a name with an *asterisk* then we were able to obtain information on our deceased classmates.

Click on their name to link to their memorial page.

Telll me what does it look like in heaven?
Is it peaceful? Is it free like they say?
Does the sun shine bright forever?
Have your fears and your pain gone away?

Because here on Earth it feels like everything... good is missing, since you left.
And here on Earth everything is different, there is an emptiness.

Oh-oh-oh I...I hope you're dancing in the sky.
And I hope you're singing in the angels choir.
And I hope the angels, know what they have.
I'll bet it's so nice up in heaven since you arrived.

So tell me, what do you do up in heaven?
Are your days filled with love and light?

Is there music? Is there art and invention?
Tell me are you happy? Are you more alive?

Because here on Earth it feels like everything good... is missing, since you left.
And here on Earth everything is different, there is an emptiness.

Oh-oh-oh I...I hope you're dancing in the sky.
And I hope you're singing in the angels choir.
And I hope the angels, know what they have.
I'll bet it's so nice up in heaven since you arrived.

I hope you're dancing in the sky.
And I hope you're singing in the angels choir.
And I hope the angels, know what they have.
I'll bet it's so nice up in heaven since you arrived, since you arrive.
