Information for Richard Viall (February 8, 2013)

Richard had a heart attack on Friday, February 8, 2013 at ~ 3:00 AM. He was taken to the hospital and his wife called his employer with the understanding that Rich was going to be okay. Unfortunately, something happened and he was declared brain dead.

Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to Rich and his family.

Obituary for Richard Viall (February 10, 2013)
Rich Viall, age 60, of Charlotte, NC passed away from heart failure at CMC Pineville on 2/10/13.


Raised in Rochester, NY, where he attended Rochester Institute of Technology and Erie, PA, where he attended Mercyhurst University before moving to Charlotte, NC in 1990.
 
Rich was very dedicated to his work as Director of Logistics for AOL (Air, Ocean, Land) Freight Solutions located in Charlotte at the time of his death.

Throughout his career, he was loved, admired and respected by his customers and fellow workers alike. He leaves behind many fond memories of friendships and accomplishments and will be greatly missed by all.


He is survived by his spouse of 14 years, Kathi Jodway, two step sons, Tom Jodway of Morganton and Andy Jodway of Brentwood, TN, a step daughter, Jennifer Heil of Columbus, Ohio.


It was Richard's wishes that in lieu of a memorial service, that he be fondly remembered by his many friends and family alike. Condolences may be forwarded to his home.


His family would like to extend thanks to all the emergency responders and the exceptional medical staff at CMC that did everything in their power to keep Rich with us. The outstanding and professional personal concern not only for the patient, but the entire family has only proven to me they deserve everyones utmost respect for what they do, and why they do it. Thank You!
